2005 - Honey Bee Carrot Cookies

1 Cup Sugar
1/2 Cup Butter, softened
2 Eggs
3 Tbsp. Honey
1 tsp. Vanilla
2-1/2 Cups Flour
2 tsp Baking Soda
1/2 tsp. Nutmeg
1/4 tsp. Salt
1/2 Cup Shredded Carrot

Preheat over to 325 degrees.
Combine Flour, Baking soda, Nutmeg, and Salt in medium bowl.
Combine Sugar, Butter, Eggs, Honey and Vanilla in a large bowl and beat well.
Stir dry ingredients into butter mixture and mix well.
Stir in shredded carrots.
Using well-floured hands, gently shape rounded teaspoons of dough into 1-inch balls.
Place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake 13-18 minutes until edges are lightly browned.
Remove immediately to wire rack to cool.

Submit 3 cookies on paper plate, labeled with Name, Grange, and Grange Number.

Check with your Subordinate W.A. Committee to find out when your Grange’s judging will be held and enter! The first place winners from each Subordinate (Community) Grange will bake again to compete for the top prize at the Connecticut Agricultural Fair in July!

2005 - Potato Chip Cookies

1/2 cup Unsalted Butter, Softened
1/4 cup Sugar
1/2 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
3/4 cup All-Purpose Flour
1/2 cup Crushed Potato Chips

Heat oven to 350 degrees.

Cream together the butter, sugar, and vanilla extract. Gradually add the flour, and mix completely. Stir in the chips. Drop the batter by teaspoons onto an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for approximately 10 minutes or until the edges brown. Makes about 18 cookies.

Enter 3 cookies on a plate, and label with Name, Age and Grange.

This contest is open to Subordinate Grange Members, their children and grandchildren.
