| MARCH 21, 2011 -- The Connecticut Farm Bureau Association has named Niantic resident Henry Talmage executive director. He replaces Steven Reviczky, an Ashford resident who was named state agriculture commissioner earlier this year.
Talmage had been executive director of the Hartford-based Connecticut Farmland Trust Inc. Before coming to Connecticut, Talmage was president of New York’s Long Island Farm Bureau.
“With the Malloy administration’s renewed emphasis on growing our state’s agriculture sector and an interest in locally grown products, it is important for the Connecticut Farm Bureau to be a leader in helping our state’s farmers be successful,” Talmage said in a press release.
The Windsor-based association has branches in Connecticut’s eight counties including New London and Windham.
“He (Talmage) has the right skills we need to ensure the Connecticut Farm Bureau remains relevant and has a positive impact for all farmers in the state,” President Don Tuller said. |
