| APRIL 29, 2011 -- USDA-Natural Resource Conservation Service (NRCS) has announced a funding opportunity for certified organic producers. Up to $310,000 is available to Connecticut organic producers to help them plan and implement conservation practices that address natural resource concerns consistent with organic production. This includes planting cover crops, Integrated Pest Management (IPM), seasonal high tunnels, or nutrient management systems.
Funding is provided through NRCS’ Environmental Quality In-centives Program (EQIP), a voluntary conservation program. Interested producers should contact the nearest USDA field office or visit www.ct.nrcs.usda.gov/programs/eqip/. |
