| AUGUST 3, 2011 -- The South Windsor Dollars for Scholars (SWDFS) is pleased to announce scholarship applications were made available in late winter through the Guidance Offices at eight local High Schools to matriculating students in good standing who are residents of the town of South Windsor; educated within the town of South Windsor; and/or are students who met the specific requirements of any scholarships administered by South Windsor Dollars for Scholars. SWDFS, a non-profit chapter affiliate of Scholarship America, strives to foster and cultivate scholarship opportunities in the South Windsor community.
Thirty-six community donors funded $46,600 with an additional $2,482 made available through a private, non-profit affiliate totaling $49,082. Applications were received from 141 students from four schools and 71 scholarships were awarded to 57 students.
