| SEPTEMBER 5, 2011 -- Learn how a dairy farm has diversified to meet 21st century market challenges as you tour the Freund’s Farm Market and Bakery on Wednesday, September 14th in East Canaan, CT from 10 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The Freund’s have developed a number of innovative approaches that complement their dairy operation. On the tour, you’ll get an inside look at the very successful cow-pot production and marketing effort, the state of the art manure storage facility, and the tomato greenhouse. The Freunds will share how they expanded on-farm opportunities for family members, and how the family makes decisions. Enjoy a special lunch from the Farm’s catering staff.
