| OCTOBER 28, 2011 -- Most farmers' markets in Connecticut finish up this weekend and Mark Zotti of the Connecticut Department of Agriculture said that although this season was not the best for growing, without a hard frost, farmers can continue to harvest.
With that in mind, Zotti said that markets should be very well-stocked this week and consistant with what was available last week.
Zotti said that overall the market economy was good even though the rain slowed down production in the fields.
"My feeling was that the markets were good and that there were customers at the markets but the growing year was bad," he said.
But, he said, although there was a lot of rain this season the season was long and it hasn't frozen over yet.
"My hope is that the farmers can sit back and relax on a successful year," he said of the season.
