| JUNE 15, 2000 -- Rudolph "Rudy" McNeal, 73, of Hartford, beloved husband of Patricia (Dean) McNeal, died Tuesday, (June 13, 2000) at Hartford Hospital. Born December 17, 1926 in Caribou, ME. He was a cook in the U.S. Army, serving in the Korean War.
Rudy worked for 25 years at Chandler-Evans Corp. of West Hartford, retiring in 1989.
He was a member of the Memorial Baptist Church of Hartford, the National Grange, CT State Grange Central Pomona #1, Newington Grange #44, and an affiliate member of West Hartford Grange #58. Among the offices he held were State Grange deputy, State Membership Committee, Central Pomona chaplin, and also held many offices in Subordinate Grange, master, overseer, chaplin, and assistant steward.
Rudy was a volunteer with the Salvation Army, Avery Heights, WESP and others. In addition, he was a member of the Parkville Senior Center and Salvation Army Senior Center.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a sister, Georgia Ouellette; and a brother, Eugene McNeal, both of Caribou, ME; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held Friday, 11 a.m., at Memorial Baptist Church, 142 Fairfield Ave., Hartford. Interment will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford.
