Around The Grange
Board of Directors to provide minutes

By Phil Prelli for the C.S.G. Board of Directors

  JANUARY 6, 2012 --

One of the issues that we constantly hear from our Grangers is that communications need to be improved at all levels of our order.  This was again brought up several times at this year’s Annual State Session.  We should continually look at ways to improve communications and better inform our members of the activities and decisions of your State Grange.

The Board of Directors discussed this at our meeting held Saturday October 22, 2011. It was decided to have copies of our approved minutes available to our members, starting with our November meeting.  Certain confidential discussions held in executive session will not be printed on the public copies.  The minutes will be available after they are approved at the next scheduled meeting; as an example, the November minutes will be available after the December meeting.  This will also include any special meetings held.  The State Secretary will provide copies to members either electronically or by mail when requested by a member.  Obviously we would prefer that you request them electronically to keep down the cost of postage.  Copies will also be available at State Session to review.

Again the principle reason for doing this is to improve communications between the Board and our members.  We hope that this will help to inform all those interested in seeing the actions taken by your Board.
