Annual “Give A Pint, Get A Pound” blood drive underway

By West Hartford News (1/6/12)

  JANUARY 6, 2012 --

Dunkin’ Donuts teams up with the American Red Cross for the fifth annual “Give a Pint, Get a Pound” campaign that provides a coupon for a free pound of Dunkin’ Donuts coffee to all presenting donors at Red Cross blood drives in Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York and Vermont during January.

The campaign celebrates National Blood Donor Month to help increase awareness about the need for blood. The campaign has provided more than 350,000 pounds of coffee to presenting donors.

Donated blood is used to help accident victims, trauma patients, transplant recipients, and those receiving treatment for life-threatening illnesses.Since winter is often a challenging time for blood collections due to weather and flu season, the campaign helps boost blood collections when patients need it most.

In addition, participating local Dunkin’ Donuts shops are hosting blood drives throughout the month to collect blood for patients in need. To donate blood during the month of January, call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767) or visit redcrossblood.org.

Coupons are redeemable at participating Dunkin’ Donuts locations, and are non-transferrable and not redeemable for cash.
