Around The Grange
Jul 2022 News from Taghhannuck Grange No. 100

By Barbara Prindle

  July 11, 2022 --

July 14: The program is “How to make Stamps for Stamping” by Debra Tyler. Homemade stamps are what she used to decorate the Yurt that we had at the Grange a few years ago. We have a social time with refreshments at 7:00pm with our meeting at 7:30 PM. Ref. by Ruth Schnell.

August 11: “A Letter from my father” by Brent Prindle

August 25: Picnic at the Prindle’s at 6:30PM. Note: hamburgers, hot dogs and drinks supplied.  Please bring a side dish or dessert.

At our June meeting we voted to have Meghan and Casey Flanagan become members of our Grange “upon initiation” or in our case upon taking the obligation ceremony. Casey is a Town of Sharon Selectman and Meghan is a wizard with broadband internet among other things. They will be a great addition to our Grange. We also held Election of Officers and filled our slate except for Lecturer. We will reach out to members who were not at our meeting for someone to fill this position. It is not as demanding as it is in some Granges since our Programs are put on by members who sign up to do a program in a specific month.   The Lecturer has one program that can be done if needed at any meeting and also sends in the monthly report to the Ct. State Lecturer.

As I am writing this, they are shingling the entire Grange Hall roof with architectural shingles that match the Fire House Substation which is attached to our hall. There will still be things that our contractor needs to finish off, but we are almost done with our repairs from the tree damage. Again thank you to all who donated to our “tree fund”.
