For one week prior to the celebration of our 135th anniversary, the weather predictions were torrential rain and hail. Unfortunately this was not the case, when I left to go to Grange there no rain, nor was it raining on my way home.

Plans have been completed for the celebration of our 135th Anniversary to be held on Friday, June 14th. Our theme is “Strawberries.” When our brain finally clicked, we realized it was being held on Flag Day and have added “Flag Day” to our theme. We will be having the drawing of our semi-annual raffle and a strawberry country store.

Not much news to report from Nutmeg Pomona this month- not even some juicy gossip. But as the saying goes... no news is good news. Next month will be different as we will have Election of Officers between the time I am typing this and the next issue of the Granger.

Sorry I missed having Beacon Valley news in the last Granger. Just when it was time to write it, my computer passed away unexpectedly. I’m back in business now with a new replacement.
We are now meeting in our meeting hall and programs are still on the fruit and vegetable theme.

A popular winter song starts “Oh the weather outside is frightful”. That’s how the weather was for our December Pomona meeting. The drive over was rainy and foggy but light – the ride home was all of these but dark and dreary. If it had been snow, we would still be shoveling.

Our December meeting and Christmas Party was a fun evening. Starting with a delicious pot luck supper (spiral ham, two kinds of potatoes, baked macaroni, shrimp cocktail, chili, vegetables and dessert). The blessing was offered by Woodbury Baptist Minister Peter Ventura.
