Notice is hereby given of the 127th Annual Session of the Connecticut State Grange, to be held at the Hartford Plaza Hotel,100 East River Drive, East Hartford, Connecticut on October 20, 21 and 22, 2011. The first session will open at 7:00 P.M. Thursday evening.
The Celebration Banquet will be held on Saturday, October 22 at 7:00 P.M. at the hotel. Tickets will be $30 inclusive. A choice of Roasted Pork Loin, Chicken Français or New England Baked Scrod will be offered. Tickets must be purchased through the Central Office (860) 633-7550. Reservations must be made in advance.
All Granges should be represented at the Annual Session, as prescribed in the Digest.
Room reservations at the hotel must be made by the individual. Tell the reservation desk you are with the Connecticut State Grange when making your reservation. I would suggest making your reservations as soon as possible. Tel. 860-528-9703.
Subordinate and Pomona Secretaries will prepare two credential cards enclosed with the Call sent to Granges.
All sessions will be held at the hotel. Candidates for the 6th Degree should be at the hotel by 7:30 P.M. on Friday, October 21st. Sixth Degree applications may be obtained any time during the session or from the Central Office in advance. Cost is $10.
State Committee Directors and members will be happy to participate in discussions of any sessions committees, if they are asked.
Delegates to the State Session will be reimbursed $2.00 per session for each session attended. Attendance cards must be punched by the Deputy on duty for each session attended. Officers, deputies and committee members will also be reimbursed $2.00 per session for each session attended. This does not include the spouse unless he/she is also a pink sash wearer. Mileage will be paid at 27¢ per mile for one round trip per Grange, from meeting location.
Attendance cards will be issued by the Treasurer upon presentation of credentials. The cards and badges will be given out on Thursday morning. The Pre-Session Banquet does not count as a session.
It shall be the responsibility of the Delegate(s) to receive payment at the close of the Session from the Treasurer before the delegate(s) leave the hotel.
Delegates should make every effort to be present at the Opening Session and each session thereafter. Sessions committees should not meet during the regular session. Time has been provided in the schedule for meetings of the sessions committees. State Committee Directors and members will be happy to participate in discussions of any sessions committees, if they are asked.
All badges should be left at the table in the rear of the hall at the conclusion of the Session on Saturday afternoon.
It is not the duty of the typist to type reports for officers or other pink sash wearers. All reports for the Journal of Proceedings should be given to the State Secretary before leaving the Session, if not mailed previously.
The annual session concludes the work of the Grange year. We hope your Grange will be represented to answer the roll call on Thursday evening, October 20 as we look forward to another year of good Grange work in Connecticut. |
