Youth: Are Teens Allergic to the Grange?

In April of 2018, The New York Times printed an article Why teenagers become -allergic - to their parents. They go over why it is important for them to go through this process of separating from their parents, to distinguish themselves from those who have supervised them from birth.

Youth: What We're Working On

Just to update everyone on what our Youth Committee has been working on, we are currently planning the New England Youth Conference, to be held in July. The pieces are coming together and I hope to update everyone with more specifics in next month’s CT Granger.

Youth Members of Connecticut, for all purposes, will be recognized as age 14-35. The State Grange Youth Director and committee members may be of any age.

National Grange Youth Program ...

The National Grange Youth program is designed to provide leadership training and life skills training opportunities. There are only two programs that are age specific; all programs are open to all Grange members regardless of age.

The goals of the National Grange Youth Development department include providing leadership training through a variety of opportunities such as: Regional Conferences, Ambassador Program, John Trimble Legislative Experience, Mentoring Programs and The National Convention, just to name a few.
