Put on those thinking caps!

By Lisa Lamoureux, Youth and Junior Director

  MAY 2, 2011 --

Greetings!!!  Well if you did not attend the annual Bowl-A-Thon, you will now have to wait another full year until it happens again.  Remember, everyone is young at heart so you should participate in great functions that like this.

Here are some upcoming events for the Juniors and Youth.  The Juniors and Youth will be serving you a delicious dinner at “Let’s Celebrate”.  It looks like Pat Palmer’s famous lasagna will be the featured item for dinner that day.   “Thank You” Pat for helping us out.  So make sure that you come hungry to “Let’s Celebrate” because you are going to leave full!!!!

Anyone up for a ballgame?  We are thinking about getting everyone together for a ballgame.  What could be more fun than good Grange friends, a hot dog and a really good baseball game.  Look for more details to come.

Another idea that we have is to help out in the New England Grange Building at the Big E.  I will need Junior and Youth volunteers to help out in the Connecticut room and down in the store.  Please call me at 203-238-1510 if you would like to help out.  We are aiming for a Saturday so that no one has to miss school (sorry!).  Remember, part of being a Granger is volunteering.  I am sure that it will be a fun day.  I will have Grange information to hand out and will order a memory for people to take home with them.  If anyone has any ideas about an item that we can hand out, please call me or email me (youth@ctstategrange.org) OR (juniors@ctstategrange.org).  I would like to get an order into National Grange as soon as possible so put on those thinking caps and let me know.  Maybe some kids will see how much fun you have that day at the Big E, that they will want to join.

If anyone has any ideas for a fundraiser or a gathering, or road trip, please do not hesitate to contact me or any member of the Junior or Youth Committees.  We are open to all ideas and want everyone to participate.   REMEMBER, put on those thinking caps!
