Feb. 13: Program hosted by Dick and Camilla Tarryk

Feb. 27: Snow date for February 13 December was a busy month. Our annual Christmas party was well attended, with nearly 20 children enjoying Sue’s fun and games and receiving gifts from jolly old Saint Nick. The annual guessing game was not candies in a jar, but ornaments on the tree and was won but one of our youngest attendees. We presented many gift cards to our local food bank to help families in need to have a happier Christmas.

Eleven hardy souls caroled around town on a chilly Monday evening and delivered baskets of fruit along with the carols. This year we were accompanied by Dick Tarryk’s accordion as an added treat.

On the 13th we continued our new tradition of Wreaths Across America, instituted by Debbie Barnes last year. This year we expanded the program to include three local cemeteries, placing 192 wreaths on the graves of our veterans. The local Boy Scouts presented the flag, the Girl Scouts led the Pledge of Allegiance and the Wheeler Band played Taps. All who participated were invited back to the Grange Hall to enjoy pasta, muffins, grinders and donuts, donated by local restaurants. Thanks to Wayne Byasee for making the stands for the wreaths. And if those icicles hanging from the eaves will just, please, quietly melt away, next time we will tell you all about jolly January.
