Around The Grange
Litchfield Grange Fair a Success

By Waterbury Republican (9/2/10)

  SEPTEMBER 5, 2010 --

Dick Healy, master of the Litchfield Grange, and his wife, Janet, were once again the main reasons for the success of the Grange’s annual fair on Saturday, August 28th.

The Healys organized nearly every aspect of the fair, which put an exclamation mark on the 120th anniversary of the Grange’s founding.

More than 200 exhibitors participated in the fair, displaying vegetables, baked goods, and arts and crafts.

“We had a lot more canned vegetables this year, maybe because of the dry summer,” Dick Healy said. “It was a nice way to finish our 120th year. The town has been very good to us and we appreciate the support.”

Judging displays with Dick Healy were Dick Dauphinais of Litchfield, who was joined by some of his grandchildren, Susan Harrison of Morris and Dolly Marzulla of Litchfield.

A raffle held at the end of the fair featured a quilt made by Janet Healy. It was won by Ray Damiani of Litchfield.
