Wolcott Grange To Host Dog Ball

By Wolcott Whisper (1/7/13)

  JANUARY 7, 2013 --

The Wolcott Grange is hosting a dog’s ball on Saturday, Jan. 12, that will feature entertainment provided by members and volunteers of the Grange.  The event, at the Grange’s facility, 313 Boundline Road, is from 1 to 4 p.m.

Members of the public and their dogs are invited. The event is free, but the Grange requests donations.

The ball begins at 1 p.m. with “Wolcott Grange Has Talent.” The performers are local and current pageant titleholders, Cheyenne O’Donnell, Alexa Farrell, Alyscia Talbot, Cassandra Mastrianni, Brianna Smail, Maggie Luddy, Sam Aquavia and Irelynn Ginnelle.

The program will be hosted by Danielle Trusch. Also, Gracie Vance the Trick Dog will perform.

At 2 p.m., a ceremony will be held to dedicate the Grange Hall to Lou Godin, a former master of the Wolcott Grange who recently died.

After the ceremony, there will be a potluck dinner and music provided by DJ Josh Mears. The king and queen of the ball — the best dressed male and female dog — will be announced.

“It’s a black collar event where dogs are dressed at their best, not the humans,” said Joe Ouimet, master of the Wolcott Grange. “Because it’s about the dogs, not us.”

For information, call or text Ouimet at 203-768-6535.
