Glastonbury Grange News for July

By Kay Ruff

  JULY 9, 2013 --

Glastonbury is now on its summer schedule.  We just have our monthly meeting in July and no Card Parties.  The Monte Carlo Card Parties will begin in October.

August 1st is our meeting an Annual Picnic.  I don’t have any particulars at this time. For information on the picnic contact our Master, Robert Nordstrom.

I want to thank everyone, members and non-members,  for their support of the Pasta Dinner that we held on May 18th.  It was a big success.  Much thanks, also, to all who worked on it.   We will have the final figures at our June 6th meeting.  (I am writing this on June 2nd.)

Congratulation to Priscilla Schmartz for her entry in the Needlework Contest.  She placed 2nd in the Pomona Judging on May 28th.  Her entry was a “counted cross stitch “ entry item.

East Central Pomona is holding a Degree Day (conferring the first 4 degrees) on August 17th at Good Will Grange Hall on Naubuc Ave., Glastonbury. Activities will begin at 10:00 a.m.  Now would be the time to bring in any applications to join Glastonbury Grange.  They could take all 4 degrees on that day.  We do need some new members. If you need applications just call me 8860-315-5336 and I will mail them

to you.

Wishing you all a wonderful summer.  Join us at our picnic. Bring a friend or two with you.  Non-members are always welcome.

July 11:  Meeting 7:30 p.m.  Fireworks Galore; Refreshments;  Priscilla Schmartz and Herbert and Ruth Grommeck

Aug. 1:  Meeting 7:30 p.m.  Annual Picnic
