Taghhannuck Grange to Host Soap-Making Workshop
  FEBRUARY 3, 2014 --

Taghhannuck Grange is hosting a series of Old Fashioned Skills Workshops. The next one is February 8th from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, teaching the art of soap making.

Learn to create your own soap with bubbly personalities Sharon, Alicia, and Debra. Sharon Laughlin will demonstrate using coconut oil and lye to make a cold-processed soap. She brings wisdom gleaned from running her own soap making business, "Made for You" soaps. North...star Botanicals herbalist, Alicia North, will demonstrate adding plant matter to glycerin soap base to enhance its healing properties. Local Farmer, Debra Tyler will use a home-made soap box to teach how to make what she feels is biologically better soap with locally produced animal fat and lye. Go home with samples of each!

The cost to participate in the workshop is $35/person or couple. Contact Debra@Motherhouse.us or at 860-672-0229 to register.

Taghhannuck Grange Hall is located at 4 Dunbar Road, in the Ellsworth section of Sharon.

Lye is caustic! Bring your own rubber gloves and eye-protection.
