July News from Beacon Valley Grange

By Joanne CIpriano

  JULY 5, 2014 --

Our 125th Anniversary was just great.  The attendance was good – I counted 71, the program entertaining and the refreshments delicious.  Jody Cameron, State Master was present and presented seals to Bob Burns (70 Years) and William Brush (65 years).  State Lecturer Marge Bernhardt assisted in the presentation to our “Citizens of the Year” the Elks Senior Home Work Project of Naugatuck.  Other dignitaries present were:  National Executive Committee Phil Prelli and Maureen and Marge and Robert Sendewicz Past Voting Delegates.  State Officers present were: Lady Assistant Steward Eloise Osuch, Gatekeeper Robert Buck, Executive Committee Ruel Miller, General Deputy Todd Gelineau, Deputy Carl Bernhardt, Youth Committee Jean Meehan, Legislative Committee Charles Dimmick, Agriculture Committee Maggie Buck and Social Connection Barbara Robert.

As Master I would like to thank all our members for anything they did to make the evening run smooth.  Also Barbara Robert and Eloise Osuch for all their help.

Now that the fun times are over we are enjoying the summer months.

Our July meeting is on the 11th.  Lecturer Cindy Legg will present her program titled “Jubilee July”.  Refreshments will be served by Mary Lou and Scott Raymond.

I would like to thank all the Grangers and Granges who were so thoughtful to send me and my sister Pat cards while both of us were having some health problems.   They really helped.
