Glastonbury Grange News for August

By Kathryn Ruff

  AUGUST 2, 2014 --

I hope everyone is enjoying their summer.  As I am preparing this article it is clear and sunny and 50 degrees.  I am still waiting for 90 degrees.  I like warm weather.

Our August meeting is a 6 P.M. (short business meeting) followed by our annual picnic.  Chef, Tom Breen, will be preparing the hot dogs and hamburgers and each member will bring a covered dish for all to share.  I look forward to visiting with you all.  It is always a real pleasant evening.

Our Sept. 4th meeting is installation of officers.  This is the beginning of the new Grange year.  The meeting is at 7:30 P.M. and this is followed by “potluck desserts.”  Bring your favorite dessert for all to share.

All Glastonbury members are going to miss Jean Accornero.  She was always “THERE” to assist in our activities.  She would always be there at the Food Sale, Card Party, CWA Activities, Grange meetings, and refreshments when needed.  You did not have to ask her, she was just always there.  Even at the end of a telephone call.  “We all miss you, Jean.”
