Around The Grange
North Stonington Comm. Grange News for June

By Nancy Weissmuller

  JUNE 7, 2015 --

On April 10 Jason Miner presented an interesting and informative PowerPoint program called “Leave No Trace”.  One the 24th we honored longtime members, nine of whom were present to accept their seals or certificates.

It was great to greet old friends again!  Golden Sheaf Certificates and pins were presented to Eric Berg, Jr., Alma Limpert and Joyce and Tim Maine by State Lecturer Marge Bernhardt.  We also presented 55, 65 and 70 year seals.  We have a 75 year letter for Clarence W. Bradley but have lost track of him in the last five years.  If anyone knows of his whereabouts, please contact the Secretary.

On June 12th we will elect officers for the coming year and have a short program.  We will hold our annual picnic on June 26th.  The Grange provides hot dogs, hamburgers and drinks.  The fun begins at 6:30.  Please bring a dish to share.  Sue Pianka will have games for the young and young at heart until the mosquitoes drive us home- well, they don’t actually do the driving… and if those big, black ants that are beginning to show up will just stay outside, next time we’ll tell you about the merry month of May.

June 12:  “Unpredictable”

June 26:  “Astounded”
