Around The Grange
Carlton Platt honored
MAY 2008 -- April 8th Totoket Grange honored Carlton for the service he has given State, Pomona and Local Granges.  Seventy-three of the seventy-five years he has been a Granger, Carlton has held a post in at least one Grange.

He was Master of Indian River and Totoket Granges rising from Gatekeeper to Master in each of the Granges twice.  He also went up the chairs to Pomona Master and had a great record at the State level as well.  He was the first Chaplain of the State Grange that was not a holder of a clergy position outside of the Grange.  He served for 10 years.  He was subordinate deputy in the mid 50’s, served on the safety committee and was general deputy for five years.  The only two years he did not hold an office were the year he joined Indian River and the year he joined Totoket.

Everyone at Totoket Grange respects him and thanks him for all he has done.  Carlton marrying a local woman and moving to North Branford was a great move for Totoket Grange.
