Nov 3: Special Program with our First Selectman

Nov 12: Acoustic Night - 7 PM

Nov 17: Special Program on Geothermal Heating with real world example

Dec 1: Business Meeting followed by Holiday Party

Dec 3: Holiday Market 10 AM - 3 PM

Our 84th Agricultural Fair held on August 28th featured several new contest categories: one for children and one for adults. The kids outdid themselves in the new category of 3-D Printing. With much appreciation to the Ridgefield Library staff and their 3-D Printer, demonstrations were held all day that captivated the attention of adults and children. The kids were asked to prepare a model of something they’d seen on a farm and the items they created were fantastic. Our Bill Mikulewicz organized this contest and our thanks to Bill! The adults’ new category was Adult Coloring, apparently the new craze for adult relaxation. We had terrific weather along with a nice crowd of fairgoers all day long with beautiful and tasteful exhibits and vendors. Thank you to Doug Shepherd for the set up and take down, and to Michele Clark for keeping us organized.

We have some very interesting programs and events prepared for the year ahead, and the sampling shown in the calendar for the first weeks of the new Grange year is no exception. Come hear an update on our First Selectman’s review of her first year in office and her plans for the remainder of her term. November 12th will  feature our second Acoustic Night, where we will have the stage and piano available to singers, instrumentalists and ensembles to perform among 20 five –minute time slots. Contact us to reserve your time! Also, a fascinating program on Geothermal Energy and channeling it to heat a home will be explored on November 17th; detailing how to get a home off of oil and gas for heating and cooling. This should be intriguing and informative. Looking into December, come do some holiday shopping at our 3rd Annual Holiday Market featuring some very fine area artisans, crafters and confectioners. All of these events are free, and open to the public. Please note the start time for each event!

Visiting Patrons are always welcome--won’t you join us?
