Jul News from Beacon Valley Grange No. 103

By Joanne Cipriano

  JULY 8, 2025 --

A change in our Election of Officers – Overseer Ronald Gunter is our new Master replacing Joanne Cipriano who has held this position for 25 years. Joanne will be Overseer.

After planning our 136th anniversary for a year, it has now come and gone but the memories will live on. Honoring us with their presence was the Mayor of Naugatuck Pete Hess – Past Voting Delegate Noel Miller - State Officers President Robert Buck, Secretary Todd Gelineau, Chaplain Charles Dimmock and Gatekeeper Aili McKeen. 47 attended to help in the celebration.

In keeping with our year’s theme “Dogs”, dogs were played an important part throughout the meeting. A dog rescue table containing dog figurines, supplies, puzzles and doggie bags was available for anyone to take home a souvenir.

During the program, the opening song was “How Much is That Doggie in the Window” and Aili McKeen and her dog Luchi did a scent work demonstration – very enjoyable.

Paul Paloski was honored as our “Citizen of the Year” Paul is long time Boy Scout Leader, life-long servant of the Church and a former Auxiliary State Trooper. We were able to keep it a surprise from him even his three sons coming. One from out of state. Noel Miller did the presentation.

Our Master Joanne Cipriano was presented her 75 year continuous membership certificate by Todd Gelineau, Secretary of the CT State Grange. She was also presented with certificates from the Mayor and State Grange President.

At the meeting I said I did not want to single out any particular officer as we have an exceptional great group, but I have to give special thanks to Pat Fischer, Marilyn Maxwell and Marie Sousa. They were at the hall during the week and made sure everything was spic and span and Marilyn came back the next day and did the same with the outside. As Master of BVG, I am very fortunate.

Just a reminder, we still have Open

Mic the third Saturday of each month from 2 to 5 and our tag sale on the same day from 9 to 2.

We thank everyone who came and made it an enjoy occasion for Paul, Joanne and all our members.

Almost forgot – the surprise of the evening, was when Todd presented us with a check for $3,100.00, he found in the State Unclaimed Money.

This sure will pay many bills. Thanks a bunch, Todd. Keep up the great detective work.
