Mountain Laurel Pomona met on Aug. 23 at Granby Grange for the conferral of the Fifth Degree and inspection by Noel Miller.  Granby has done a donerful job with their hall clean-up and renovations.  The Court was beautiful and the degree was well presented.

We were pleased to have six candidates receive the degree.  Michael & Karen Lazzaro, Tim & Melissa Sweeney, Patricia Sansone, and June Conrad were welcomed into the Court of Pomona.

The new Pomona Handbooks were distributed to the Granges present.  Thanks to the generous support of our boosters and adjustments in the quantity printed, the cost of the books was reduced from $925 last year to $277 this year.  Granges not present at the meeting will be receiving them in the mail soon.  We do ask Granges to please let us know how many books are needed and to return the changes to officers and meeting schedules in a more timely manner next time around.

Twelve resolutions were on the agenda for this meeting.  After considerable debate, five resolutions were adopted and will be sent on to the State Grange for action in Oct.

The next meeting of Pomona will be on October 4 for the Installation of Officers at Riverton Grange Hall, 2 P.M.  Please join us!
