| JANUARY 11, 2026 -- Granby Grange held its regular monthly meeting on December 14 at its historic hall. Connecticut State Grange Deputy Patrick O’Brien was in attendance for the meeting.
During the business session, members voted unanimously to accept all recommendations proposed by the Building Committee, including a $20,000 private donation to address several urgent needs of the Grange. The funds will first be used to repay loans to members who stepped up quickly last month when the Grange’s oil tank cracked. Additional funds will be used to upgrade the historic hall’s electrical system, with the remaining balance reserved to provide matching funds for potential grants that require such support.
In recognition of this generous contribution, the donor was granted naming rights to the main meeting room in the basement hall. A dedication ceremony will be held at a future date and time.
Also during the meeting, Life Member Nancy Silkey was formally welcomed into Granby Grange by Mountain Laurel Pomona President Dave Roberts.
Following the business meeting, members and guests enjoyed a festive holiday buffet, a gift exchange, and two games of bingo. Both bingo games were won by junior and youth members of the Grange, adding to the celebratory spirit of the afternoon.
Granby Grange will hold its next meeting on Sunday, January 11, at 2:00 p.m. |
