Apr News from Mountain Laurel Pomona No. 15

Mountain Laurel Pomona held its second meeting of the year on February 28 at Bethlehem Memorial Hall. 30+ members were present, representing eight of the ten Community Granges, as well as affiliate and associate members. Bethlehem Grange served as the host and provided refreshments following the meeting.

Community Granges shared updates on their local activities. Reports included building improvements at Granby Grange, accessibility upgrades at Whigville Grange, and successful fundraising events at Winchester Grange. Taghhannuck Grange highlighted its community service efforts and plans for a new seasonal educational “Grange Farm School” series. Riverton Grange reported on its upcoming 118th Anniversary celebration, and kitchen renovation fundraising efforts. Simsbury Grange shared plans for several community events connected to the upcoming America 250 celebrations.

State Vice President Ted Powell encouraged continued focus on membership growth, youth participation, and involvement in state programs.

Members also discussed the possibility of launching a new Pomona communication initiative, with the Executive Committee planning to review ideas and report back at the next meeting.

The next meeting of Mountain Laurel Pomona Grange No. 15 will be held Saturday, May 9, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Whigville Grange Hall, 153 South Main Street, Whigville, Connecticut. Members and guests are welcome.
