Family Activities: Enter the CWA Contests

Happy spring everyone.  Can’t believe it’s finally here.  Hope everyone has items for the CWA contests.

Remember:

Northeast Needlework Contest---Open to the public. There are 11 classes for competition-Afghans, doilies, embroidery, baby set, plastic canvas, counted cross stitch, adult garment, quilted was hanging, stuffed toy and baby blanket. All first place State winners will compete at the North East finals at the Big –E. Brochures and entry forms for the North East Needle Needlework contest may be obtained from the state CWA, Pomona or Subordinate Chairman.

Decorate a Flowerpot ---use any flowerpot. Judging will be in 2 categories; Most original and Prettiest. Maximum size is 12” x 12” x12” Judging is done at the State level only.  You do get your entries back.

Craft Contest---“Everything is Coming Up Roses” You may make any item, in any medium that has anything to do with Roses. There are 2 categories: Needlework and Other medium. Craft entries ae not returned (no exceptions). They are retained by the State CWA committee to be used as gifts and /or given to the Country   Store at  big E.

Baking Contest---Open to Grange members, children and grandchildren of members and Junior Grange members.

The recipe Strawberry Cupcakes with Strawberry Icing can be obtained from any member of the CWA along with directions. Judging for the baking contest is held in the Subordinate Grange with the winners baking again for the state Judging.

Junior Program.  Junior needlework and baking contests are the same as the adults.

All  judging for the State CWA contests will   be held to Saturday, June 13, 2015.  Entries must be at the Cheshire Grange hall.  One  day before “Let’s Celebrate Day” June 14th 2015.
